About LOBA (The Loyola Old Boys' Association)

25 years of existence. More than 800 members. The initial efforts of Jimmy Antony (1969) and friends have been carried on by successive teams of office-bearers.

The Executive Committee meets regularly (once a month, or once in two months) to plan and operationalise programmes. Every year, the OBA organises an Inter-School Quiz (Oct/Nov), and Inter-House Quiz (Oct/Nov), assists regional chapters in arranging annual meets, gives trophies to Loyola students who excel in academics, sports and extra-curricular activities, and felicitates staff members and outgoing students.

Once in two years, a medical camp is organised. Atleast two newsletters are published every year. Membership directory is also brought out (usually once in two years).

In 1999-2000, a 'Back to School' programme was arranged for the first time. The year also saw the revival of the Regional Chapter at Bangalore. Another highlight of the year was the hosting of the VIth South Zone Jesuit Alumni/ae Congress.

Report of activities, and financial accounts are presented at the Annual General Body Meeting, usually held in June/July. Office-bearers for the following year are also elected at this meeting.

LOBA is an active charter member of the 'Federation of Jesuit Alumni/Ae Associations of India' and has hosted the Southern Province Jesuit Alumni/Ae Association Forum Meet, in 1993 and 2000, at Loyola campus, Trivandrum.
